The 'leap to our doom' thing deserves special mention.On top of the above, thanks to the inflated budget, Zordon gets a makeover for the movie, and the giant head he usually manifests as in the tube looks a lot more ghostly and vaguely unnerving.Most specifically, Zordon is shown outside of his tube, the bold mentor transformed into a frail, helpless old man whose days are almost literally numbered.The aftermath shown when the Rangers return is not pretty either, with their headquarters destroyed.And then, arming himself, he takes his revenge and starts blowing up everything around him to kingdom come. At first, a Faux Affably Evil Ivan enters the chamber, commenting on how fancy he finds the place, and then as he talks with Zordon, he transitions gradually from mildly argumentative and somewhat funny to full-blown villainous rage. The assault and destruction of the Command Center.It will be as Zordon of Eltar never existed!!! (thunder clap) He happily ascents to Lord Zedd's request to destroy him, and sets off to do so almost immediately.

To be fair to all concerned, at the point Ooze sold his Ooze only the Rangers and Zedd's forces knew he even existed the Rangers were offworld, Alpha was trying to keep Zordon alive, and Zedd wasn't in a position to do anything even if he'd wanted to.

Ivan Ooze is equally as scary, despite being more camp than Lord Zedd was at the time: in one scene where the kids of Angel Grove are partying down with Ivan's Ooze while their parents are mindlessly wandering to the quarry to 'leap to their doom'.

It then cuts to an eerie shot of the Power Rangers in profile, barely lit and with tense orchestral music playing, before a lightning bolt suddenly strikes. Everything goes just fine until the ending, where there's a sudden close-up of the villainous Ivan Ooze laughing at you.
